This set contains styling products only. These products should be used after you have washed and conditioned your hair. None of the products in the bundle are designed to substitute the use of a conditioner, so please make sure you condition your curls on wash day, prior to applying any of the three products.
Our Untie The Knot Nourishing Leave-in Conditioner is an excellent option that creates tons of slip, detangle-ability (yup, that’s a word!) and moisture. Conditioning your curls is a critical part of long-lasting definition.

Hi! Definition Curl Enhancer Styling Gel
We’ve designed these two products to go strong and long with definition without needing help from each other. We recommend that if you are new to TréLuxe and/or the use of a gel or foaming mousse, that you start by only using one.
This is recommended because both products are highly concentrated and using both, without understanding what the right amount is for you could cause hair to feel and look stringy, crunchy, rough, and hard. No curly has time for that!
Apply the Curl Defining Mousse first if:

So what is it- A mousse or a foam? Well technically, it is both! With our foaming mousse you get the moisturizing benefit of a foam, while getting the hold and manipulation of a mousse.
Our mousse is designed to clump curls both thin and thick, without weighing them down. If you find your curls are straw dry and crunchy then this is a sign that you’ve used too much product and not enough water. Our mousse can typically cover medium density curls at shoulder length with 1-2.5 full pumps.

Our Hi! Definition Curl Enhancing Styling Gel is a staple for many curlies and wavies. This is our most concentrated product; where less is certainly more, and we mean it! When using this gel make sure your curls are (1) saturated with water (2) you emulsify the product in wet hands before applying to your curls.
Due to the level of concentration, we find that most wavies/curlies get approximately 20-24 uses out of this 8oz jar. That translates to a reordering frequency of about 2.5-3.5 months! Talk.About.Savings!
At TréLuxe, we have a rule of thumb for usage- If you feel like you used enough, then it is probably too much. If you feel like you need more, then you’ve applied just the right amount.
Wash Day Practice Based on Results, Not Routine
Concerns & desired results should dictate what products you use and in what order. If you’re at the beginning at the curl journey, and haven’t quite figured out a product type or routine that works for you, then please USE THE BELOW BENCHMARK AS YOUR STARTING POINT (yes, were shouting, only because we really don’t want you to miss it)
For Frizz Control & Long-Lasting Hold
When attempting to manage frizz and get past day 2 without refresh, we highly recommend the below combo in the given order. Below are the steps you will want to follow when applying to your entire head. Remember, you can always add, but you can’t take away, so use these concentrated products conservatively.
Base: ReFlex Curl Styling Serum (apply first)
Finish: Hi! Definition Curl Enhancer Styling Gel (apply last)
How to use
Step 1: Cleanse hair with Curl Renew & Restore Gentle Cleansing Rinse
Step 2: Condition hair with Untie the Knot Nourishing Leave-In Conditioner
Step 3: Apply ReFlex Curl Styling Serum

Ensure your hair is wet (not damp, not misted or dewy, but wet)
- Rub a dime-nickel size amount into wet hands to break down the product for cuticle penetration and even distribution
- Distribute Styling Serum through hair section by section

Ensure hair remains wet, re-wetting during the styling process if needed

Smooth and scrunch for curl clumping
Step 4: Apply Hi! Definition Curl Enhancer Styling Gel

Have a spray bottle on hand to ensure curls are wet
- Start with a dime size to quarter size amount of Hi! Definition Curl Enhancer Styling Gel
- Rub product together in wet hands to break down product for even distribution and lessen the likelihood of flaking and white residue

Distribute Gel through hair section by section
Step 5: Air dry or diffuse. If you decide to diffuse, we highly recommend the 80/20 rule. The 80/20 rule states you should allow your hair to air dry 80%, then diffuse during the last 20%. If you notice that when hair is dry you have flyaways or unwanted frizz, use our ReFlex Curl Styling Serum to smooth and glaze over areas of concerns on dry hair.

For Curl Clumping Definition, Moisture & Volume
Curls looking limp, stringy, and flat? Give the below products and steps a try. This product combo is designed to increase the amount of curl strands that clump together. It is essential to ensure you clarify your hair regularly to encourage curl clumping when you style. Moisture will also be important on a regular basis. Don’t starve your hair of a good deep conditioning.
We recommend at least every month, or every other month for finer curls. Our Soothe and Restore Ultra Moisturizing Deep Conditioner is an excellent option. That simply smells AMAZING!

How to use
Step 1:
Cleanse hair with Curl Renew & Restore Gentle Cleansing Rinse

Make sure your hair is soaking, soaking wet to avoid the stringy look

While hair is still SOAKING WET, dispense 1-2 full pumps of Soothe & Restore Curl Defining Mousse into hand, then rub hands together to spread product through your palms

Smooth and scrunch products evenly from roots to ends, for each section of hair. Brush styling at an angle, brush coiling, or prayer hands are great styling options as it applies tension for clumping.
Step 4:
Apply Hi! Definition Curl Enhancer Styling Gel

Rub a dime size to quarter-size amount of product in hands and lightly distribute through curls
*Styling techniques are just as important as the products, so make sure to try at least 2-3 different techniques if you are not getting the results you want.
Step 5:
Diffuse your curls on medium-low to set your curls. Cupping the curls can help ensure definition, volume, and bounce.
Step 6:
Once your curls are fully dry, you may notice your curls are crunchy, or have a wet look. With dry hands, shake curls at the roots, and scrunch at the ends to break the cast.
For Curl Volume & Bounce
Curlies who are looking for that Day 3 bounce and fullness on Day 1, this is the product combo for you! These two products work together to produce body, bounce, shine and touchable curls. This option is great for curlies who have low density hair.
