Your curls are like little living springs — twisted, expressive and constantly thirsty. And because curls are structured like tiny S or O shaped, moisture doesn’t travel down the hair shaft easily. That means your curls rely on hydration in one of two ways:
This blog post is all about #2 because mastering external hydration is how you get curls that are soft, resilient, defined, bouncy, and way less prone to breakage.
Moisture is more than a “nice to have.” It affects every aspect of curl behavior:
Imagine prepping your curls the way makeup lovers prep skin.
That’s what this primer does — except for hair.
This lightweight, slip-packed formula:
Because of its aloe-rich, water-binding formulation, this primer is hydrating enough to refresh curls water-free, reforming curl patterns without needing extra stylers. It’s the kind of product you keep in your bathroom and definitely travel with! The Aloe Vera Curl Primer also operates as a great refreshing product, especially when curls are looking and feeling a bit dry!
The Curl Supreme 4-in-1 Hydrating Crème is like a full moisture AND strengthening routine wrapped into one:
This is the product curls crave when they feel rough, fragile or too dry to hold shape. Think of it as a “reset” button for thirsty waves, curls and coils.
If your curls feel crunchy, stiff, rough, snappy or like they're shedding more than usual … then this deep conditioner is calling your name.
This conditioning treatment envelops every strand with:
It’s designed to revive curls that are weeks past due for hydration. Additionally, with light-weight oils you can ensure your curls stay protected until their next wash!
Now that you’ve met the TréLuxe product crew that can take your curls from sadly straw-like to marvelously moisturized, it’s time for a fun and quick curly girl quiz!
Answer YES or NO to each:
Do your curls feel rough, dry or brittle even right after washing?
Do your curls lose shape quickly (within hours) and look frizzy or undefined?
Does your hair snap, break or shed more than usual when manipulating or detangling?
Do your curls look dull or lack that juicy “oomph” or plumpness?
Do products seem to sit on top of your hair rather than absorbing in?
Healthy curls are hydrated curls — full stop. Moisture determines how your curls move, feel, behave and shine. When your hair is hydrated, it’s stronger, more defined, more elastic, and infinitely easier to style. The best part? You don’t have to overhaul your whole routine.
You just need the right moisture-forward products that deliver hydration and help your curls keep it.

5-Question Moisture Check: Do Your Curls Need a Drink?
Do TréLuxe products work on permed hair?
TréLuxe products are made from gentle, natural ingredients and are safe on chemically-treated strands. Originally formulated with natural curls in mind, our products can hydrate, define and enhance curls of any kind.
Do you offer fragrance-free products?
We do! Three of our most popular styling products: ReFlex Curl Styling Serum and Hi! Definition Curl Enhancer Styling Gel, and Untie the Knot Nourishing Leave-In Conditioner, come in fragrance-free options. We certainly understand that fragrances can be very subjective, and we’re working on developing more fragrance-free product offerings in the future.
Please do note that “fragrance-free” does not always equal “scent-free.” Fragrance-free means that there are no additive fragrances on top of the existing ingredients. However, there is still a scent as a result of the mixing together of all the ingredients.
Are there videos/tutorials of people using your products?
Yes, we’ve got a few different ways you can take in useful videos and tutorials that include the products in action.
We recently launched an incredible resource! It's called ReelCurls University and is full of helpful how-to videos to provide education and inspiration for curlies, coilies and wavies. We’d highly recommend checking it out!
TréLuxe social media pages share videos of people with all different types of textured hair. Check us out on Instagram (@discovertreluxe) or Facebook (discoverTreLuxe) for tons of helpful content.
